Telios

Everything a financial institution runs, in one platform

Telios is organised as a core that every institution uses and add-ons it activates when needed. Each module shares the same customer record, business calendar, approvals, audit trail and general ledger.

Core banking

Customers and KYC

One customer record across branches, with the documents and checks your compliance officer needs.

Core
  • Individual and organisation customers, with relationships between them
  • Identity documents, photographs and supporting documents, scanned for viruses on upload
  • KYC checklists by tier and verification checks
  • Screening against watchlists, risk rating and periodic review dates
  • Duplicate detection and a complete customer history

Savings and deposits

Launch savings, current and term deposit products by configuration, with interest and fees computed the same way every day.

Core
  • Product factory for savings, current, term and recurring deposit accounts
  • Deposits, withdrawals, transfers, holds and account restrictions
  • Daily interest accrual and capitalisation, fees and withholding tax
  • Statements and transaction history
  • Standing instructions and cheque clearing

Loan management

Take a loan from application to closure with the same rules, approvals and accounting every time.

Core
  • Applications, affordability assessment and approval workflows
  • Disbursement to the customer's account
  • Repayment schedules (annuity and other methods) and collections
  • Interest, penalties, arrears and portfolio classification
  • Overdraft facilities and portfolio reporting

Teller and branch operations

Cash is controlled from the vault to the counter, and every till balances with the ledger.

Core
  • Tills and vaults per branch, with cash counts by denomination
  • Teller sessions for deposits, withdrawals and transfers at the counter
  • Limits and supervisor approval for large or unusual transactions
  • End-of-day processing on the institution's business calendar

Payments

Move money between accounts and to other rails with the right controls and a clear outcome for every payment.

Core
  • Internal transfers, bulk and salary files
  • A connector framework for payment rails, starting with mobile money (MTN MoMo)
  • Inbound payments with a repair queue
  • Reconciliation of each rail against the ledger

Security and access management

Access follows responsibilities, and every sensitive action can be traced to two people.

Core
  • Users, roles and permissions, from role templates scoped to the institution or a branch
  • Maker-checker approvals with configurable policies and segregation-of-duties rules
  • Sign-in with multi-factor authentication and session controls
  • Audit trail of every change, with the values before and after
  • Encryption of personal data, with keys held in a key management service

Reporting and management information

Managers see what matters to them when they sign in, and reports come from the ledger, not from spreadsheets.

Core
  • Dashboards per role, with work queues, alerts and key figures
  • Operational, financial, loan portfolio and customer reports, exported as files
  • Regulatory returns for COBAC, reproducible and approved before filing (add-on)

Notifications and documents

Customers and staff hear about what concerns them, and documents are stored with the records they support.

Core
  • SMS notifications through a local SMS gateway, where configured
  • Email and in-app notifications for staff
  • Document storage attached to customers, accounts and loans

How integrated accounting works

  1. An operation happens

A teller receives a deposit, a loan is repaid, a fee is charged.

  2. The posting engine applies the rule

The product's posting rules decide which accounts are debited and credited.

  3. The ledger is updated at once

The journal entry is recorded with the operation, in the same transaction.

  4. The proofs confirm it

Daily checks show that each subledger agrees with its control accounts.

Illustration with fictitious data

Telios produces the financial statements from its ledger. Specific statutory reports and tax declarations depend on the country pack and are confirmed with each institution.

Add-on modules

Compliance, AML and fraud

Monitor transactions, hold suspicious payments and document every investigation.

Add-on
  • Monitoring scenarios over transactions, reviewed as alerts
  • Fraud rules that can hold or block payments before they leave
  • Case management and suspicious transaction report workflow

HR and payroll

Staff records drive system access, and salaries are calculated, posted and paid inside the institution's own books.

Add-on
  • Employees, positions and leave; access granted and removed as staff join, move and leave
  • Monthly payroll with a configurable country pack, starting with Cameroon (CNPS, IRPP)
  • Salaries paid to staff accounts and posted to the ledger in one approved step

Digital channels and agents

Serve customers where they are, on the same accounts and controls as the branch.

Add-on
  • Internet and mobile banking, USSD and mobile wallet
  • Agent banking with float management and commissions
  • Bill payments to billers

Treasury, cards and specialised finance

Extend the same ledger to treasury, markets and card operations as the institution grows.
